Amy's Ice Creams (Austin, TX)

Updated: Jan 29, 2022

If some of you had been watching my Weekly Web Series, you may know that my family traveled 21 hours to get to a fascinating city in Texas called Austin. Austin is an area in Texas and it's popularity of clearly growing. Austin attracts 20 million visitors per year and also 150 people move to Austin every day! That's a lot! Did you know that Austin is one of the sunniest cities in America? Well, it is in the summer. Right now, as I'm publishing this, a huge snowstorm has decided to come. I almost slipped on our own balcony! Thanks black ice. Well, when it is not freezing, Austin in the summer is the PERFECT place to enjoy some yummy Ice Cream! And lucky for us, Austin has so many places to eat this cold treat! Today, I'm talking about a place called Amy's Ice Creams.

Amy's Ice Creams was founded here in Austin, Texas in 1984! It was founded by Amy Simmons. It was a last minute call to drive over and pick up some of the Ice Cream. Their most popular one was called the Mexican Vanilla. We brought it home, tired. We took one bite and quickly devoured the entire thing without talking. It brought back a familiar taste from India for my parents. The combo was Madagascar Vanilla and Mexican Orchid. In my words, "Perfection!"
