You really can't have a thrilling vacation without first, a calming hike. Well, that's exactly what we did today! We headed to Armstrong Redwoods State National Reserve, CA. where we saw thousands of trees! It was beautiful and the forest had trees that had been around for over a thousand years!
There was a tree that people called the icicle tree. The tree that had burls that looked like icicles! It was not only pretty, it was also very tall too! It looked as if it was touching the sky!
Another interesting tree that we saw was one that looked like a piece of coral! It was so fascinating, for it was growing on all sides, up, down, left and right! If you stood in front, it looked as if you were wearing elegant wings. The actual tree had fallen so the coral shaped wood, was really the roots! I learned later that the redwood trees roots only went down only twelve feet, which is not a lot given how high the trees are.
One more thing I saw was an entire theater made of wood! I learned later that this outdoor masterpiece was the theater that the tribes from over 100 years ago used! I didn't want to touch the history even though my knees were aching from the walk.
This walk was super fun and I would totally recommend it for anyone who is in Guerneville, CA! It is definitely a great workout, and a sight to see!
Here are some of the photos my family took:

I love that area, we stayed in guerneville last year.
